Today is Sunday, February 26, 2017. Twelve days until our Glen Rose weekend!
“In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.” ~ George Orwell
Meritorious ~ deserving praise, reward, esteem, etc.; praiseworthy.
Today is Personal Chef Day. How cool would that be?? To have one, I mean. But if you’re blessed enough to have a personal chef, show your chef some love today.
Today, R & J will be coming over around noon, and we’ll head over to the west side of town for our trip to the escape room, which is to be themed on the subject of the Cthulhu mythos, created by the great H.P. Lovecraft. C is the only one of us who has done an escape room, and said it was a lot of fun. So I’m really looking forward to this, and the Cthulhu theme is an added bonus.
Other than that, the only thing that is happening today is our worship gathering, at 10:15, at The Exchange Church. We meet at the Northpark YMCA, at 9100 N. Beach Street in Fort Worth, TX.
The Rangers lost their first Spring Training game, 7-5. We heard part of it on the radio, while in the car, and they had a great inning, where they plated five runs behind the bats of Lucroy, Napoli, and Odor.
36 more days until Opening Day!
Sing praises to the LORD, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name.
For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.
I cry to you, O LORD; I say, “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.”
Glory to God in the highest,
and peace to his people on earth.
Lord God, heavenly King,
almighty God and Father,
we worship you, we give you thanks,
we praise you for your glory.
Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father,
Lord God, Lamb of God,
you take away the sins of the world:
have mercy on us;
you are seated at the right hand of the Father:
receive our prayer.
For you alone are the Holy One,
you alone are the Lord,
you alone are the Most High,
with the Holy Spirit,
in the glory of God the Father. Amen.
(Gloria in Excelsis)
This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Most loving Father, whose will it is for us to give thanks for all things, to fear nothing but the loss of you, and to cast all our care on you who cares for us: Preserve me from faithless fears and worldly anxieties, that no clouds of this mortal life may hide from me the light of that love which is immortal, and which you have manifested to us in your Son Jesus Christ our Lord; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. (The Divine Hours)
Father, show me your ways today. Teach me, that I might walk in your Kingdom, in the easy yoke of Christ. As we worship you today, fill us with your glory, surround us with your Spirit. Separate us from our anxieties, that we may rely only on you for everything.
Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
Grace and peace, friends.
